Position Duties: Set up and operate common and conventional machine shop metal removing machines (manual, NC & CNC), i.e. CNC lathe, engine lathe, mill, drills, grinders, etc., at a very high level of proficiency. Can set up and thread “premium” threads on a CNC lathe, with no assistance on setup and first articles. Setup and operate any CNC machine tool owned by the R&D Lab. Select proper tools and gages for thread or process to be performed. Be able to adjust machine processes and tooling to optimize cycle time and maintain process control. Perform necessary math calculations as required. Perform light maintenance and repair to equipment. This position is required to preserve product trace ability. Produce parts form product drawings. Inspect product and threads for conformity.
Position Requirements: High school or equivalent a must. Vocational technical training preferred. Must be a proven team player and is able to work well with others. This position requires five years of experience in metal removal and metal processing on a variety of machines. Good understanding machine shop operations and processes. Must have experience manufacturing threaded, preferably premium thread on tubular products. Inspection Knowledge desired: gauging, measuring of parts per blue print, measuring instruments setups, good understanding of inspection methods. Computer familiarity: word processing, spreadsheets, windows explorer. Skilled craftsman with excellent mechanical aptitude, able to drive forklifts, lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs., good understanding of basic math. Good record of performance and attendance history.
CNC Lathe with threading experience is preferred but will interview strictly manual machinist.
Hours: 2nd Shift 6p – 6a (Training is on 1st shift)
